About Me

Hello! My name is Ellen Barth and I am an animal and nature photographer based in the north shore of Massachusetts. My passion for photography ignited in 2010, when I took film photography classes in High School. Since then, I can always be found with a camera around my neck! I enjoy shooting film for the romantic and nostalgic emotions that the results emit. I shoot digital as well, but my heart lies with film. Call me a renaissance woman!

My family has had horses since 2007, and our life has been so much more meaningful, and joyful, because of it. I have beautiful photo and video memories to look back on, thanks to our super Dad. You don’t appreciate these moments as much as a kid, but the older you get, you start to realize how fast time flies, and how priceless these photos are – a time capsule if you will. That’s why I do what I do – to provide everyone with the opportunity to have a little time capsule of their own.

I am most passionate about capturing the bond between animals and their humans. The time we have with them is never enough, which makes our relationships with them that more special. I take these photos so we’ll always remember these bonds; remember how we felt when you ran your hand through their fur; remember what you smelled when you gave them a warm embrace; remember their voice as you called their name. I do this so their legacies, and our relationships with them, will live on long after they’re gone. But anyone who has, or had animals, will know that their photos, and spirits, stay with us forever.
